Ella Butler Makeup Artist

Ella's bio

I discovered my love for makeup transformation as a teenager when I was bullied about my own appearance at secondary school. Clearly having freckles wasn’t an expectable feature in the eyes of the bullies.

I come from a very creative family, and at 14 I decided to enhance my own appearance as naturally as possible, I realised my artistic talent flourished in the application of makeup. I used to stare at blanks canvases wondering what to paint, but all of a sudden there were people canvases everywhere, and I knew instinctively what I wanted to be ‘painting’ on them and how it would improve their look.

What started off as a hobby is now my career, and I love every second of it! I have been privileged enough to assist and learn from various top makeup artists in their field, such as prosthetics artist Marcus Whitney on the set of BBC 3’s “Being Human” and feature film makeup designer MaxVan de Banks.

I gained my diploma in advanced makeup artistry from the prestigious London Academy, and I have under my wing a huge portfolio of happy clients.
